The Department of Statistics has a glorious sports legacy like its academic excellence. The department is always supportive of sporting activities and it encourages students to participate in various sports in order to improve their physical and mental health.
Cricket Team Practice Session
In every year, our students participate in inter-department football, cricket and basketball tournaments organized by the University of Dhaka. We were champions several times in the inter-department football and cricket tournaments. Moreover, the department arranges various kinds of indoor and outdoor games. The indoor tournament was named after a great freedom fighter, Bir Uttam Lieutenant Ashfakus Samad as “Samad Smriti Tournament”. In the indoor tournament, participants play Chess, Rubik cube, Badminton, Table tennis, Card games, Carom etc. The outdoor tournament was named after Bir Sreshtho Mohiuddin Jahangir as “Bir Sreshtho Jahangir Smriti Tournament”. The sporting events of this tournament are Cricket, Football and Basketball.
